The first movie I remember seeing at a drive in was 'Hey, There, It's Yogi Bear'...RC colas in a cooler, grocery bags of popcorn and a blanket on the car roof, with the window speaker turned way up so we could hear.
When I was a teen, someone asked me if I would go to a drive in on a date with a boy and was shocked when I said 'Sure!'. I had no idea that OTHER folks didn't go to watch the movies...Lisa Lareehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11516986664460840579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23435904.post-49325228737087120432010-09-08T20:48:41.911-05:002010-09-08T20:48:41.911-05:00Heart-breaking! They thought the four of us would just fall asleep, 'cause it wasn't exactly age appropriate at the time. But we stayed up for the whole thing!

We did have a drive-in/weekend flea market in our current area but about 3 years ago they shut down. So sad. One of the best things about going there was the "vintage" play area. It had real teeter-totters and giant aluminum slides. Ahhh, the good old days. And yes, it is freaky that The Last Exorcism was playing when it caught on fire!

We had one in my hometown when I was growing, but it had shut down. I think the last movie I saw at a drive-in was Superman. Not the new one, the first one, when it originally came out! Ha!Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05438319095780906710noreply@blogger.com
