No Soda April
Colleen over at Not Quite Vintage has pledged to give up soda (pop for us southern plains girls) for the month of April...in an attempt to kick the soda habit. Sounds good to me, and this was one of my goals for spring/summer anyway! I've already stocked up the Crystal Light water bottle packet thingies here at home and in my desk at work.
You don't have to completely give it up...Colleen has made no rules for us rule-breakers who will not be denied. You can choose to do a Cut Down Soda April if ya want to, Soda with Pizza April, or any variation thereof.
I don't think its plausible I will NEVER drink a root beer, so I'm going to try to go No Soda Except With Popcorn April.
Wanna join?
Nutritionally, I wonder what the difference is between a (diet?) soda and a Crystal Lite packet.
ReplyDeleteI've given up my Diet Cokes for short periods in the past, but something always happens and I end up back off the wagon.
I gave up Soda's about 5 yrs ago and I do not miss them! I do have an occasional Root Beer!
ReplyDeleteGood for you!
ReplyDeleteI can't give up my diet cokes but I have cut down a lot. I drink water and unsweetened tea all day long and only have a little pop at night to curb my sweet cravings.
LOL Katie! I thought the SAME thing! Except for the carbonation of course, which does bother my stomach a bit.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big soda drinker, but I like the concept. For me it would be Cut Down on Chocolate and Crunchy Cheese Doodles--my two vices. I could do that for a month and probably lose a few pounds to boot.
ReplyDeleteActually, the carbonation is really quite bad for you. It leaches the calcium from your bones, according to my 16 year old science student, who drinks only a handful of sodas a year. Which is about a handful more than I.
ReplyDeleteI gave up soda for two years. I worked for a company that always had a well-stocked fridge and it just became a habit. I gave it up as a New Years Resolution (the only one I ever actually stuck to). In the end, a friend offered me a sip of a Thomas Kemper Root Beer (I designed their first label, waaaay back when) and I took a gulp, and voila, the spell was broken...fell off the wagon...
