Plus Size Swimwear...featuring ModCloth

Let's be honest, shopping for a cute plus swimsuit used to be (basically) an oxymoron. I've resorted to shopping online for years because there simply aren't cute suits in the stores near me.

Today I'm focusing on ModCloth (again!) because they have really upped their game in the past few years with their swimsuit offerings. Let's see what's on the menu this year!

Here Comes the Ruffle One-Piece:
http://shopstyle.it/l/DwaL
Pro: Great vintage prints and a sexy crossover.
Con: Maybe the potential for a wardrobe malfunction if you don't possess the chest to fill it out.
Currently available in sizes XS-3X

To die for gingham checked Bikini Bottom:

So much to love about a good high-waisted bottom! I've actually purchased a previous season's version of this bottom and it fits well. No saggy bum and no riding up the you know where.
Pro: So many cute prints!!
Con: The leg cut could be slightly higher.
Currently available in sizes XS-4X

I'm not currently one who wears something quite this revealing, but I totally appreciate designers and retailers who cater to those who want to! The adorable matching bikini top is available in the same sizing and can be found here in a variety of mix & match summery prints.

Or, if you want a bikini top with a little more underwire support, try this underwire bustier Bikini Top (shown with a dot print version of the Waterfront Flaunt bikini bottoms!).

For my retro and vintage loving pals, this cherry print suit is to die for. It (or a version of it) has been a long time staple in Modcloth's swim line!

Pro: Adorable styling in several retro prints
Con: Halters can be uncomfortable if you're busty!
This suit is available in sizes from 4 to 34!!

Now this is a suit!: Revealing, without being too revealing!

Pro: Sweet and sexy! With some face-framing ruffles  to draw the eye up
Con: That bow tie would make me personally nervous. Double knot suggested!
Currently available in sizes XS-4X

These are my current Modcloth favorites in the plus size swim line! I have ordered from Modcloth for years, and while not everything has been perfect, I will say they have a very decent return policy and a post-paid return label (true as of the last time I placed an order in the fall). As always, read current return policies on the website, particularly for intimates and swimwear which can vary from "regular" clothing items!

I'm excited to check out what else is offered in plus size swimwear this year out on the webs! Stay tuned!

It's anthropologie. Of course. Gorgeous, vintage-inspired spring skirt and top (very 70s, yes?) And top it off with a lucite clutch? Be still my heart.

Sweet Spring Home Decor Finds

❤ this post contains affiliate links ❤
I don't know what it is about spring that makes me want to redo my entire house, but it never fails!

Right now we're saving every penny for our summer vacation, but that doesn't mean I have to stop pinning and dreaming right??

Being spring, pastels and soft colors and sweet florals are all calling my name right now. Kate Spade in particular needs to be stopped...

So so many favorite things here...that gorgeous polka dot vase!! Those cozy pastel throws...because chill hasn't quite left us yet, even in the southern plains. Those cheeky planters! That mirror!

Needless to say, there's a lot on my dream home secret board. Not shown here but always a favorite of course is basically anything Joanna Gaines throws out there. LOVING Chip and Joanna's Hearth & Hand with Magnolia line at Target!! I nabbed a few pieces at Christmas, and my Lu was able to grab me another piece I missed out on just recently.

Anyone have favorite home decor shopping spots this spring??

Springtime at anthropologie

❤ this post contains affiliate links ❤

You guys...anthropologie is killing it this year.

I feel like they come and go, as far as being in sync with my own personal style, but this year. I want all the things!!

My budget isn't currently flush enough for everything my heart wants, but believe me the wheels are turnin' for some knocksoffs!!

Ok, I can't exactly knock off the graphic tees, but those shorts? They look an awful lot like Vogue 9257 would work:

They aren't "paper bag waist" but still a classic and cute pair of shorts! I'm obsessed with gray these days as well, so I'm envisioning these shorts in this pretty grey linen from fabric.com:

Now to find a floral lawn that would work for that peasant blouse...

Happy Hump Day!!

Geek at Heart

Happy spring y'all!!

As warmer weather approaches my mind turns toward fashion, and I'm obsessed with a few things at Modcloth right now. I feel like Modcloth had some growing pains over the past couple of years (probably largely due to the income issues most retailers were having), and I was definitely one who had qualms about the Walmart corporation overtaking them..but I feel like they actually are the same retro-vintage loving shop I've always adored.

Anyway... remember how I was saying I wanted some new tees for summer?? Modcloth is speaking to my nerdy, earth loving soul.

I'm dying over a few of these, but National Parks are for Lovers, Nurture Nature, and Otter Space are all in my shopping basket right now...

Woooo spring!!!

The Most Magical Place

It's that time of year again... when I'm planning Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) and waiting (im)patiently for my FastPass+ window to open. Tales of a Disney addict!

Honestly, what started out as a one-time adventure, has blossomed into a yearly tradition for my daughter Lu and I (if you've been reading this blog for a while...my tiny Lu will be 21 this year!) This summer we will once again head south to Orlando, to spend time with Mickey.

When I look back at all of our photos I get pretty nostalgic. We've had some awesome summers. We usually pay the little bit extra and stay in the park now. (And this year when money was a little tight, Lu pitched in to pay for her half so we could still make our trip! It will be a little bit shortened, but still just as fun!)

We never look in the right direction!!
Part of our planning, outside of how to get there, where to stay, and what to ride, includes what to pack! You might notice our cute "Mickey-esque" ears in the first pic. We made those ourselves! That's been a bit of a tradition too the past few trips, and we each have more than 10 pair now (so many! Stay tuned for a display craft for your Mouse ears coming soon!)

Last year we bought tees (including the one I'm wearing in the above photo from Shine Design Tees on Etsy. It's an adorable design. Note that I did have to do some t-shirt surgery to "fit" my size and shape!)

This year we will be taking a side trip before Mickey and need to pack light. Thus, I'm going to forgo my usual ear crafting and settle on one or two pairs for the duration.

The other Disney essentials on my shopping list (so far!) I'm linking below... I've really got my heart set on the "new" rose-gold sequined Minnie ears, and I ADORE this cute Disney-themed phone case. I'm eating low-carb these days and losing some pounds, so I'm crossing my fingers for at least one or two new Disney tees too, and of course comfy walking shoes are a MUST in Disney. My favorites are these Skechers Go Walk, or these Go Walk Joy are cute too.  Speaking of shoes, I have a coupon code for Stage at this link: 40% Off a Single Pair of Shoes - Use Code ASHOES

I've been working on a simplified packing list and this is what I've got so far:

I really love vacation planning...I really hate vacation "paying" though, ha! It's all worth it for the memories though!
