Sorbetto Sneek Peek

I spent Sunday printing, cutting and taping together the free Sorbetto tank pattern from Colette Patterns.  I don't know why I've waited so long to try it out, this is a gem!

Partly, I think it might have been that big pleat in front, which I'm not terribly fond of. If you have a larger bust, pleats down the center of your bustline like that never seem to work out quite right.

I solved that by eliminating the pleat and doing a bit of gathering instead, which I prefer.

Unfortunately I'm a goof and I forgot my camera card case at school, so I couldn't take pictures last night.  I snapped a quick one with my phone this morning, so here's a peek!

I'll press it (I wore it yesterday!) and take more pictures tonight when I have a card for the old camera.

I'll be making more of this one.  Free patterns FTW!

  1. Is this pattern free on the website? I couldn't find it. Can't wait to see it on you.

  2. I made one of these last year and really liked it, too. The only thing that I would do differently next time is to cut it a bit longer for myself as I am longer in the body.

  5. I've printed this out but not taped it together yet. I have some fabric in mind. I've seen so many lovely versions and yours qualifies with that. What did you wear it with? g

  6. I love my Sorbetto and plan on making another one. I'm finding Colette Patterns to be very easy with great results and very little adjuments needed.

  7. It turned out so cute... maybe I'll make one of those, too.
I was steering clear because of the pleat also.

  8. Ooo... pleats to gathers-- that is a bit of genius! I have shied away from this one because of the pleats. But I am definitely going to have to give it a second look now. Yours looks too cute! :)

  9. Ah I love the gathers! I might try that too. So many people have made great variations of this blouse. I think I'd have to lengthen mine though as I like my tops tucked into skirts AND I have a long waist.
