I'm pretty enamored with this pattern right now:
I love the multi-cup sizing (need to lay it out over my "sloper" and see what the differences are) and I LOVE the neckline. So cute!
I love the deep pockets and the cute skirt and the sleeve options...(cough*Kristine*cough SLEEVES.)
It seems no one on the internets has made this one up yet. Guess I'll go in blind!
I have several cotton lawns and shirtings stashed. I'm guessing the lawns are too light. I have this rayon burnout-y blend too:
It was a steal at $1/yard several years ago. It's probably appropriately aged now.
Of course all of this is probably moot until the weekend, when I have a nice stretch of time to get started. But a girl can dream.
I've been pondering this pattern, but keep chickening out because of the pleats. I'm not sure I want any extra poof up front like that. :) I need to see what it looks like on a real person before I get emotionally involved! :)
ReplyDeleteYou always make the cutest dresses. I'm sure this one will be a success too.
ReplyDeleteDang I was just looking at Simplicity patterns - how did I miss that one? Weekend - come quick and last a long time!! g
ReplyDeleteI just bought that pattern this weekend. I just love it! I should be doing one soon, can't wait to see yours!
ReplyDeleteI just bought this pattern too! I think it is soooooo lovely and I am hoping to try one ASAP.
ReplyDeleteI recently bought a different "Amazing Fit" pattern that I hope to sew up soon. I'm curious if the multi-cup sizing will actually work for me.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, this pattern deserves a 2nd look. The neckline is very pretty and I adore the multi cup sizing and who doesn't love deep pockets...hmmm might have to think seriously about making a casual work dress from this....maybe in a jersey?
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait for you to make that! I picked it up yesterday at Hobby Lobby. Simplicity is only 99 cents this week. Walmart price matches if there is no Hobby Lobby nearby. : ) This pattern includes up to a DD. Pockets too.
ReplyDeleteI love that neckline. And hey look! Sleeves.
ReplyDeleteheh.
I with mary on the question of the front-enhancing pleatage though. Of course, my front is more, um, enhancable than yours.
I'm like a potato with legs.
I picked up another "amazing fit" pattern yesterday, but this is the one I really wanted (they didn't have it in store). I love the neckline and I'm looking forward to see how the bust sizing fits. I have NOT mastered large bust adjustments and I really should, but this looks easier!
ReplyDeleteFor those commenting on the front enhancing pleating - I was contemplating this pattern as a preggie dress :-) hehehe
While it is cute and all, standing up straight all the time gets to be tiring. The front will gap and reveal all--all the way to your navel.
ReplyDeleteOh, I do like that. Sleeves! I like a sleeve. And I like pockets, and a good neckline, and, and...
ReplyDeleteI shall be watching out for yours.
Beautiful pattern AND fabric! That's a bombshell combination right there. Can't wait to see it finished :)
