So TomKat are getting married, like today in Italy. Right?

The wedding (according to a CNN estimate) cost apporximately 1.5 mil.

ONE POINT FIVE MILLION DOLLARS???? Are you KIDDING ME???

1.5 million dollars for 2 actors to perform in front of their fellow actor (read: mostly shallow & self absorbed) friends, in a ceremony that isn't legal in the country it is performed in, via a religion said country doesn't even recognize. Hmmm.

Do you know what else you can do with 1.5 million dollars?

With 1.5 million dollars you could:

• Donate 1500 brand new desktop computers to an underpriveleged school district
• Send 75 kids to a state college for 4 years...tuition free
• Buy 2 weeks worth of groceries for 7500 needy families
• Write a $40 check to every single teacher in Oklahoma as a Christmas bonus. EVERY SINGLE ONE. (And yes, $40 is a lot of money to a teacher. Especially one in Oklahoma.)
• Pay for 1 month's prescriptions for 10,000 senior citizens
• Cover the outstanding hospital costs for 10 children with cancer.
• Feed 1.5 million starving children.

More than 1 Billion people in this world live on less than $1 a day.

This whole mercury in retrograde thing is ticking me off. (Is it over yet?) Not only have I gotten my head bit off all week by other people, I woke up this morning with a splitting headache, was horribly gripe-y myself, and now I'm kinda depressed. I'm blaming astrophysics. It's as good an excuse as any.

Couldn't even enjoy my new baby I bought yesterday...


Also sucking this weekend... sweet little leopard cuffed set (see post under the hot dude) didn't sell today...so I'm relisting it. Bummer. It's raining here...and I didn't get my Peppermint twirly skirt pics taken...OR my bling blings made... All of which will keep til tomorrow I guess.

And just to prove my I'm not Scroogy McSelfish ALL the bloomin' time, I bought this for my sister at Pier One. Don't tell her. It's for her birthday, on Tuesday.


Tonight the kids & I watched this...


and it doesn't matter that we have the dvd (AND the vhs). If it's on tv, I have to watch. We marveled at the sparkliness of the Ruby Slippers, and the gorgeousness of Judy Garland's voice. Over The Rainbow brought tears to my eyes, the same as it did the last time I watched it, and the time before that.

Backing up...Not that this is probably news to any of you (I'm somewhat of a late bloomer in a lot of ways, haha) but "The Blower's Daughter" on the O cd has haunted me since I first played it. I can't get enough of it. But it almost hurts to listen to it at the same time.

That could be Mercury talking though.

On that note...I'm off to find my own Lullaby League.

Finished the Peppermint twirly skirt for the EBE launch which starts tomorrow...but my camera is KAPUT. Can you tell I've about had it with technology this fall? I must have laid my camera right next to my Grabit pincushion (big ole magnet) and it killed my camera D-E-D. So, the pics that should have taken just 1/2 hour or so (above) took all afternoon and all the good light. Meaning my twirly skirt pics will have to wait til tomorrow.

Love, Hate and the Big Bling

Project Runway, How I Love Thee...and Despise Thee
And miss thee horribly. There's nothing to watch on Wednesday nights! I might have enjoyed Jericho or Lost or some other new show I don't know about because I spent the last few months tied up in a love/hate relationship with PR!!! Now I'm behind on all the OTHER shows and can't get interested. So I've been designing and sewing instead.

Which brings me to...

Remember me installing a hard drive to replace my stink-o-rama Gateway a few weeks ago??? WELLL....the saga continues. I have just lost my P key and my ; keys. So I'm typing this without those 2 keys!!! I tried to snap them back in place but it's next to impossible.

ARRGGHHH.
